This section is comprised of custom, one-off creations designed to meet unique needs.

If you have a unique need or would just like to see if something is possible, please inquire. From triple single ended wierdness to 200 watt bass amp thunder, we will design an amp for you. Why buy mass produced when you can have your own sound?

Pricing for Complete customs varies, but the additional charge for  custom fabrication is $50 for heads, and $100 for cabs and combos.

Custom Models:

Comet
The Comet amplifier is a custom amplifier built around our Fireball platform.The amplifier is a seven tube all-octal monster. Output is via a quartet of 6V6 tubes operating in class AB. The preamp and phase inverter tubes are both 6SL7s. The tube rectifier is a 5AR4.The amplifier has an Area 51 BMT-60 tube bias-modulation tremolo unit installed.The amplifier is equiped with a three band tone stack, and a single, clean-to-drive volume control.Cosmetically, the amplifier features Poplar construction, Vintage Brown stain w/satin lacquer clearcoat. Other features include a tube window, and a tube vent, for efficient cooling.Sonically, The amplifier is fat, warm, and midrange thick. This amplifier takes the low-powered 6V6 amplifier concept and adds a twist - boosting the output level to a powerful 40 watts; melding perfectly vintage tone with modern power.

This amplifier was ordered with the Walnut Electrocab 1012, shown below.

Regulator

Fireball Base in a custom style. Old west vibe. Aged, driftwood charred cab, antiqued leather handle, aged chickenhead knobs, antique mirror glass front panel. Amber electrolight system. Chassis has steel veneer hammered case hardened effect, as does transformer covers. Peppered with #4 birdshot from a 1929 12 gauge shotgun.

EF86/12AX7 preamp, 6SL7 phase inverter, 2xKT66 output, 5U4 tube rec. Volume, treble, mid, low mid, Bass controls. Variable line out and attenuator.


 

Polaris

Triple single ended 10-12 combo. 7-37w output. 2x12AX7 medium gain preamp, 5881-6L6-7591 output section. Each output tube has its own level control, volume and tone controls. Amber light system. Special design weber C10Q and C12Q speakers with oversize magnets and voice coils. Brown Durabak coating. 


X90
Bass preamplifier unit. Rackmounted unit features; High voltage tube preamplifier. 6SN7 octal preamp. Volume, Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Slope, and Fat switch. Heavy duty aluminum black powder coated chassis. Autumn Maple Red metallic faceplate, chrome knobs, chrome handles, polycarbonate face panel, red fluted dome indicator lamp. Rear mounted on/off, fuse, input, and dual outputs.

Constellation

Super-Premium exotic component parallel single ended head unit. Single EF86 preamp, One volume control, two Gelenex KT88s, special design transformers, Impedance selector, PEC Pot, Teflon signal caps, Mundorf film-type filter caps, audiophile resistors, and ultra fast recovery premium solid state rectifier. Pine cab, walnut brown color, rubbed oil finish.

Ultra balanced, warm, huge clean tones...very nuanced.

Velvet-smooth liquid overdrive, without any note of harshness. Probably the smoothest overdriving amplifier we have ever produced.


 

 

Thermosonic For Harp

Thermosonic produced specially for use with blues harmonica. Custom voiced and tuned 12AX7 preamp, 5881 output tube, solid state rectifier. Built-in attenuator for getting output tube overdrive at lower levels, as well as controlling feedback. Custom built Weber speaker designed for harp use. Marshall wheat grille, poplar cab, vintage brown color, rubbed oil topcoat.


 

Rocketone IV

The fourth amplifier built within our Rocketone style enclosure. Class A/Single ended 6L6 output, Clean 12AX7 preamp. Treb/Mid/Bass/Volume Controls, Solid state rectifier. Weber California 12" Ceramic speaker.
Pine cab, White cloverleaf grille, Blue Durabak finish, Blue Electrolight System.

Designed for classical guitar. This amplifier has a huge wide spectrum clean sound with lots of dynamics, and a special designed, highly articulate and detailed preamp. At higher levels, this amp can deliver a slightly rounded over, Liquid sound with lots of clean sustain.


 

Nautilus


Nautilus head - High-Gain 12AX7 preamp, push-pull class AB 6V6 output(20w), 5Y3 tube rectifier, 3-band tone controls, master volume/gain controls, High-gain/low-gain mode switch(preamp gain stage bypass)

Electrocab 1-12; Metal grille, tuned rear firing port, WeberVST 12F150-O driver with special double size magnet(80oz.)

Dumble-style high-gain preamp, coupled with a warm vintage style (tweed-like) output section. Tube rectifier enhances natural compression. Dynamics, gain, and response are key to this amplifier's sound. The special design of the cab enhances the low end presence and of the vintage-style driver. The double size magnet structure increases aggressiveness and dynamics, allowing the notes to rip from the cab with detail and force.

Both cabs finished with Brick Red Durabak for durability.

 

 

Nautilus II

 

Nautilus II - The second amplifier built within this unique form. Amp features the 12AX7 preamp, 12AT7 phase inverter, push pull/ class AB EL84 output section(18w), solid state rectifier, 3-Band tone controls, rear mounted attenuator. Amp has a classic Marshall plexi sound, in a lower wattage package. The has a tight aggressiveness with the high sensitivity and bounce that EL84s are known for.

Speaker Cab features open back style with a 15w, WeberVST Silver Bell 12" Alnico speaker.

Cosmetically, the system features a blue durabak exterior with metallic silver chassis/grille/legs. The knobs, speaker, and transformers are all candy blue violet.

 

 

 

Rocketone III

The third amplifier built in the Rocketone style cab. Much like the Rocketone II, but with an even hotter 12AX7 preamp. Pearl Purple paint/gloss clearcoat w/metallic Copper grill and chassis



 

Rocketone II


The second amplifier built inside our Rocketone 1-12 combo design. Solid Pine enclosure, blue Durabak coating. Satin brushed metal grille. Blue leather Ampeg style handle. Chrome Tele knobs, circuitry window. Weber 12A150-O 40oz. Alnico driver. 5AR4 tube rectifier, 6L6 output(15w), and 6SL7 preamp w/3-band tone controls.

Sonically, the amp is rich warm and fat with tones similar to early tweed, yet juiced up with contemporary drive character that doesn't mush out. Single ended Class A output tube structure blazes with high even order harmonics while the beefed up Weber driver provides plenty of muscle and with a vintage tone and early breakup.

Physically tough outer shell blends seamlessly with cutting edge 'vintage-mod' design. All combined, the Rocketone is a striking package with sonic and design elements that are unrivaled.

 

Astronaut

Super Big, Super Clean. Smooth and linear 12AU7/12AX7 preamp, 3-band tone controls, tight/loose/normal shape control. 12AT7 phase inverter for punch and clarity. Quad of 6L6s for 100watts of big, bold cleans. Oversize output transformer for dynamics, solid state rectifier for power. polypropelene and oil filter cap for a fast, powerful response. fully bypassable presence control.
Sparkle turquoise vinyl covering, satin chrome handle, chrome sparkle flake paint on chassis and transformers. Blue electrolight system.

 

 

Supersonic

 

Super-sized version of the Thermosonic combo amplifier*.

12" speaker version features a 15 watt single ended, Class A output via a single 6L6 output tube. The 12AX7 preamp w/ 3-band tone controls were designed to be clear, clean, yet still retain vintage warmth and a versatlite overdrive range. Solid state rectifier provides high efficiency DC.

The amplifier features a special designed WeberVST 12" 15w 'Blue Dog' driver with a special Neo-mag boosted 80oz. ceramic mag. This driver provides the ultimate in sensitivity and aggressivness. Notes simply leap from the speaker.

Cosmetically, the amplifier features a black mettalic metal flake finish w/gloss clear coat. The tube window is replaced with three separate circular cutouts, the center circle being a backlit 'E' logo.

*This is a by popular demand model, There is NO custom fab charge for this amp. Pricing is $850 with the same base features as the Thermosonic custom model, with the same ability to upgrade a la carte features as the Thermosonic custom.

 

Supersonic II

Poplar cab, Atlantic Turquoise/GCC, Metal grille, non backlit 'E' logo, Weber Alnico Silver Bell driver, 3-band tone controls, 5AR4 tube rectifier, KT66 SE/Class A 15 watt output, 12AX7/6SL7 preamp.

Mini JTM-45 'Bluesbreaker' tone with a tweed twist. Deep cleans with a bit of sparkle. Full-on chunky overdrive, with a touch of edge and compression.

X84

Rackmount power amplifier. Single ended/Class A EL84 power amp(7Ww). Unit features single volume control, and On/off/Standby switch.

 

Solaris 30

We took the basic premise of the Solaris mini-head, supersized it, adding custom touches along the way.

Note: This amplifier was built before the Fireball was introduced

Output is via a pair of class AB 6L6s. Preamp and phase inverter tubes are 12AX7 & 12AT7 tubes. The tube rectifier is a 5AR4.

The amplifier is equiped with a three band tone stack, lower midrange slope control, and an upper midrange fat switch. An impedance selector makes this amplifier capable of operating any impedance cab.

Cosmetically, the amplifier features a circuitry window, metallic orange paint w/ gloss clearcoat, and an offset tube window to show off the black racing stripes.

Sonically, the Solaris 30 is bright, clear and articulate -with a full range note to the overdrive tones. The single volume control does a clean-to-drive graduation, and responds accurately to picking dynamics. At maximum levels, the Solaris 30 is a medium-high gain overdrive amplifier, and the multiple voicing options make this amplifier well suited to a multitude of music styles.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Corona

Completely Custom, Class AB/push-pull Amplifier(like our Fireball). 2x12AX7 high gain preamp with hi/lo gain modes. Fat switch, treb-mid-bass controls, Custom Deep switch, gain/vol controls. 6SL7 phase inverter, 2xKT77 output tubes(50w), 5U4 tube rectifier. Chrome knobs, black durabak coating, chrome metalflake paint on chassis, candy black transformers, chrome knobs. 4-8-16 ohm impedance selector, dual speaker outs. Blue electrolight system. custom 3-circle tube window.

 

 


 

Filament

Filament  - Push-Pull-Parallel Class AB amplifier. High Gain 2x12AX7 preamp with Hi/Lo gain modes, treb-mid-bass controls, Fat switch, vol/gain controls. Paper in oil capacitors. 6SL7 phase inverter. Mixed mode 2x6L6, 2xEL34 output section. Independent level controls for each output tube type allows for mixing output tube sounds. 80w output. 5U4 tube rectifier. Mercury magnetics plexi output transformer 4-8-16 ohm impedance selector, dual speaker outs. Candy color chassis and transformers, amber electrolight system. Chrome Knobs. Solid walnut cab w/rubbed oil finish.


 

Eclipse

Eclipse - Bass Amplifier, push-pull-parallel class AB output. Adjustable Cathode Biased. 4x6L6 output section, 65w, 6SL7 preamp, 6SL7 phase inverter, Hybrid solid state/5U4 tube rectifier. treb/mid/bass/fat/volume controls. Variable line out, dual speaker outs with impedance selector. Oversize output transformer.
Solid dovetailed pine cab with satin clear coat finish. Amber electrolight system. Hardwood knobs.

Designed with the classic Ampegs in mind, but with twice the output power of the early 60's octal preamp/cathode biased amps. This amplifier has a breathing woody tone and compression that those amps were known for, but in a larger package and with more power.


Nautilus III

Push Pull Class AB(Fireball style) amplifier. 2xEL34 output section, 12AT7 phase inverter, 2x12AX7 medium gain preamp, SS rectifier. Treb-Mid-Bass Volume and Gain Controls. Pure White paint w/gloss clear coat. UV and Blue Electrolight system.
